Vators of special note and their host towns.

Once upon a time there were approximately 5500 vators on the Prairies with Saskatchewan having the bulk of that number, just over 3000. Five, six or more, stood in towns spaced about eight miles apart along countless miles of rail-lines that webbed across the lands. Now barely 500 wooden crib vators still stand in 400 Saskatchewan sites another 350 are standing in Alberta and Manitoba combined. Most are still on their original town-plot of land. Some have been relocated to private farmlands, where the farmer has given the vator a new lease on life and a few vators call museum-land home. And in some instances, the farmer has built his own version of a vator. These pages are vators of special note.
